Welcome to Linda (finally a new office Manager)

Welcomed Linda Hauschuz as our new Office Manager on Monday, February 21, 2011. She has been with us two week now and we can already feel the difference. Daryl and Dave can relax and you will get a live person on the telephone (at least weekdays, 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM). The office telephone number is the same - 419-536-9351 - and Linda can answer all you question (or find someone who can). We are very please with how well she is adapting to SCEC and learning our ways. She is even learning more and more about QuickBooks which will help us know where we really are financially (actually in the best shape in two years). So say “Hi” to Linda.

Bill Foster - ACPE Supervisor - CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Bill - September 23, 2010

Bill took an opportunity to focus on his own certification and was granted the status of ACPE Supervisor on September 23, 2010 at the East Central Region meeting in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Congratulations! Full Supervisors are granted a whole year to celebrate - according to tradition. So don’t stop saying “Congratulations” to Bill. He is welcomed into the elite corp of ACPE Supervisors.

Now he is really getting ready for Accreditation:

Bill is now focusing on developing St. Joseph Mercy Health System into a fully accredited system, ACPE Center. The time line has extended, as these things do, but he is glad to have received commitment from “Lisa Friedman, System Integration Leader for Education at SJMHS.... [She] has agreed to chair the Professional Advisory Group for the Clinical Pastoral Education program.” This development represents a major step toward pulling together the essential self study, curriculum, and policies needed to become an accredited ACPE Center. Bill wrote, “I look forward to getting back to the major work at hand, which is getting our CPE program accredited in the next 18 to 24 months, and I am grateful to have all of you to help with this process, and Lisa to help lead our efforts.”

St. Joseph continues, in the meantime, to be a Satellite Center of SCEC. We look with admiration and support toward St. Joseph Mercy Health System becoming our second, birthed, fully accredited Center. Our first was Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. We hope there will be more such births in the future.
